Dear Parents of Central Park Kindergarten Students,

Thank you for choosing Central Park Elementary School to begin your child’s journey into school. We are excited to meet all our new kindergartners and to get this year started!

We have implemented a “soft start” during the first two weeks of school. This approach allows for faster teacher/student relationships and trust building. Some elementaries have multiple kindergarten classes and this helps us create better balanced classes. At Central Park there is only one kindergarten class and teacher so all students will end up in the same class.

During the soft start, your child will have the opportunity to work with the kindergarten teacher in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class settings. Through guided academic and social-emotional lessons, students and the teacher will get to know one another.
